Things to keep in mind while writing a cover letter

A few important suggestions
Audience
It is essential to understand who the audience is
before even starting to write. Only when the audience is identified, you can
proceed.
Objective
for writing
Why are you writing a cover letter? Unless you can
answer that, it will be difficult or inaccurate to write. So take some time to
think about it.
Requirement
It is advisable to always keep in mind the
interviewers requirements from you. It also becomes easy while choosing the
things to be mentioned in the cover letter.
Benefits
You can tell them the benefits of having you as an
employee. It is important to mentions what they have to gain from you.
Engaging
opening paragraph
Capturing the reader’s attention is very important.
If the opening paragraph is dull than probably the reader may not even check
the rest of the content.
Engagement
The content has to be written well so that the
interest of the reader does not waver. It also helps create a good impression.
Certification
You may have years of experience which needs to be
backed by documents or references. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to
authenticate the information. Hence it is better to mention only those things
which can be vouched for.
Final
paragraph
In the final paragraph of the cover letter you
mention your qualities, capabilities and also persuade him to contact you.
Content written in this paragraph needs to be thought through. Any misjudgment
of language or words would mean a lost opportunity.

What is Data Science?

Structured data – data is collected from various
sources depending on the requirement. This is later organized in a orderly
manner.
Unstructured data – data is collected from various
sources but is stored or presented in an unstructured or unorganized form.
It is also a composition of various techniques
belonging to other fields such as
Statistics
– this Field deals with collection of data, analysis, interpretation, organization
and presentation of data.Statistics is relevant in fields of astronomy, economics,
education, engineering, marketing, medicine, public health, sports, biology,
genetics, psychology etc.
Data
mining–refers to going through large amounts of data
through different perspectives to derive new information. This technique may
also be used to gather and organize information.
E.g. ever wonder how big retail companies target the
right audience? As in people who might actually be interested in buying their
products. Simple, they go through volumes of data available with them of
customer’s previous buying patterns. The customers are also categorized
accordingly. Hence, next time the company wants to push a product they know
exactly who to target.
Predictive
analysis – this method refers to going through
the available information and attempting to
predict the future consequences.Thesepredictions
include all the off-course events that might occur.
E.g. R&D team, they understand the current
situation first and then try to fix the flaws in it. They also try to predict
the future needs, harnessing of solar energy lead to the discovery of solar
panels. Now there is growing demand for this industry all over the world. Some
of it is due to necessity, in an area where electricity supply is irregular,
solar energy comes in handy.

Three simple steps for good business analysis
Some people are
born analyst some people acquire it and if you belong to the latter half, this
piece of writing may help you out. To be a good analyst of any kind some simple
steps need to be taken. Along with the steps a strict discipline also needs to
be maintained.
Communication skill
The basic
requirement of any job is to be able to communicate. If this skill is mastered
than half the task is accomplished. Business analysis after all is consuming
data and emitting information.
How to improve
communication skills?
Body language
Non-verbal
movements can reveal more than what a person has to say. it is always important
to use appropriate body language depending on the mood. It is easy to tell if
one is nervousness or not by observing the body movement, little eye contact,
blocking, neck rubbing are just some signs of nervousness. So pay attention to
the body language while talking to others.
Don’t use
conversation fillers
Do not use
conversation fillers such as like, ummm…., ah… etc. this gives out a wrong
impression and makes it hard for the listener to be serious.
Listen carefully to
others
One of the most
effective ways to converse is by listening to what the other person has to say.
That way asking redundant questions can be avoided.
Be specific
A good business
analyst put forward an idea with clarity. Nobody likes to listen to someone
beat around the bush, always be direct and clear as it saves time and
resources.
Problem solving

How to improve
problem solving skills?
Open mindedness
Try to chalk out
all the possible solutions, no matter how ‘ridiculous’ they sound because many a
times these answers may lead to potential solutions. Just go with the flow and
try to be as creative as possible (after all problems don’t exactly come in
practical proportions, why should the answers)
Make things simple,
Dummy!
Don’t be
intimidated by problems simplify them and start working on a solution. Try to
dissect the problem this will take away nervousness and boost confidence.
Focus!
Stop focusing on
the problem! But rather shift it to finding a solution. There is no point
lamenting on what has happened.
Analyze
Don’t ever blindly
accept anything at the face value; always try to read between the lines (only
for the Bros, Avoid thinking with your little head!).
How to improve
Analyzing skills?
Puzzles
Math problems, mind
binders, riddles encourage your mind to think in a particular manner. Finding
answers becomes an instinctive. Regularly using puzzles helps one develop to
think fast.
Observe&
Investigate (Key Quality)
Try to see what’s
going on around, observe the minute details and question them. Try to find out
why it is done the way it is done. E.g. why are man-hole covers round and not
any other shape like square or a rectangle?
With Analytics Finishing School individuals are trained
in the fields of Data Science and Business analysis along with soft skill

What are soft skills and why are they necessary?

Types of soft
skills
·
Self-esteem- basically understanding one’s
self worth. Abraham Lincoln became U.S president after facing great odds.
Similarly; don’t just dream big, own them as well. Dreaming big showcases your
self- esteem.
·
Self confidence- Understanding one’s true
potential and implementing it. this quality helps you be more assertive (not
aggressive). Through self confidence one’s presentation skills improve and
helps instill leadership skill into them. It also helps develop your emotional
skill.
·
Communication skill- what is communication? well, to
put it in simple words communication refers to exchange of information between
two or more individuals ( also referred to as interpersonal communication).
Effective communication helps in gaining clarity to one’s message
·
Good IQ- It helps to have knowledge about
other fields other than the one already involved. Try to imagine, how good your
chance will be if you’re good at problem solving, have very good GK and are
able to grasp things quickly. only way to do it would be good brain exercises
(e.g. puzzles) wide reading ( fiction and non- fiction books).
·
Personality- personality makes or breaks a
person. Everybody has a choice either be part of the crowd or stand out from
it. Personality also helps develop customer service skills which are important
to create a loyal customer base. Managerial skill is also an indirect outcome
of a good personality, as good managers make good leaders. Resulting in
benefiting the organization.
At Analytics finishing school, we design a comprehensive program

Stability leads to economic growth
People no
matter which community they belong to need to stop giving kneejerk reaction
According to
the recently released report, Indian economy would be worth $6 trillion in the
next decade. Given the recent improvements in market situation it is going to
be a steady growth from now. Although, insiders are cautioning that it may
fluctuate before getting to the predicted result. But, there are a few issues
that need to be dealt with first.
It is said
to be a good time, toinvest in the share market now for future gains. The
upbeat morale of the government to tackle crippling issues of the economy has
led to investors getting excited towards the near future.
Although,
steps are being taken in the right direction, it is still not enough. Political
and social stability make or break an economy. Analysis of previous data has
revealed that it is one of the most significant contributing factors towards
growth in the economy. As long as there is stability, there will be investors
flocking to invest.
E.g.
American companies began investing heavily in Nazi Germany and Italy under
Benito Mussolini before the World War 2. Due to the stable political and social
climate (at least for the investors) these countries attracted investment that
helped them become one of the strongest economies.
AnalyticalFinishing School has come up with various courses to enhance your data
analyzing skills.
Leaving the
negative connotation ofthe example, it is interesting to see that investors
would not mind putting their money in the hands of a Dictator, if there was a
chance for profit! Hence, when it comes to India, atmosphere is far better. It
has a democratically elected government, chosen through well conducted
elections (praised around the globe for legitimate conduct). The only thing
that stands in the way is social issues. It is very easy for issues to quickly
escalate. Majority of media in the country has been accused of adding fuel to
the fire disrupting stability.
Whatever the
issues are, they need to be solved. People no matter which community they
belong toneed to stop giving kneejerk reaction because many a times issues turn
out to be opposite of what they were speculated to be. Only then will the world
open up to do business with India!
